Laffens top the leaderboard of Tomahawk Round 2

BUFFALO LAKE – Sleepy Eye’s Lauren Laffen shot an 89 at the second leg of the Tomahawk Conference girl’s golf meet Wednesday at Oakdale Golf Club.

On the boy’s side, Ben Laffen of Sleepy Eye led the way with an 80, six strokes ahead of Tristan Pietig of Cedar Mountain. Jack Broderius of Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart (89), Ryan Heinrichs of Sleepy Eye St.?Mary’s (89) and Jacob Stuk of Minnesota Valley Lutheran (91) rounded out the top five.

On the girls’ side, Courtney Nelsen (90) of Cedar Mountain, Karrah Remus (91) of Sleepy Eye, Brook Maasch (94) of Wabasso and Brooke Dummer (96) of New Ulm Cathedral round out the top five.

Cathedral led the way for the girls with a team score of 403 and Sleepy Eye leads on the boy’s side with a team score of 371.

The third leg of the tournament is Monday. The boys golf at Winthrop and the girls golf at Mayflower in Fairfax.
