Everett Soukup, age 97, of Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, died on May 6, 2014 the at Sleepy Eye Care Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church-Sleepy Eye on Saturday, May 10, at 10:30 a.m.
The clergy will be Fr. Andy Michels.
Interment will be at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Sleepy Eye.Visitation will be on Friday, May 9, from 4-8 p.m. at the Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye Chapel and will continue on Saturday from 7:30-10 a.m.at the Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye Chapel.
Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.

Everett J. Soukup was born December 12, 1916 in Sleepy Eye, MN to John and Anna (Haala) Soukup. He was united in marriage to Marie Forster on October 27, 1941 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. The couple farmed south of Sleepy Eye for many years. Everett was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed reading, farming, country drives, gardening, and taking care of the lawn. Everett especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by sons- David and special friend JoAnn of Minneapolis, Paul and wife Linda of New Ulm, Rick and special friend Emily of Prescott, AZ, and Ron and wife Diane of Blaine; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Ordell Krambeer of Sleepy Eye, Marcella Kestner of Albert Lea, and Anne Marie West of Denver, CO.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Marie in 2005; daughter-in-law Sharon; brother Clifford; and sister Alyce Krzmarzick.
