Retzlaff Ace Hardware prepares for paint department grand opening
NEW ULM – Retzaff’s Ace Hardware & Paint is relaunching its Paint Studio on May 14.
“The redesign has been in the works for a year,” said store Manager Brad Retzlaff. The grand opening of the The Paint Studio will start on Wednesday and run through Sunday. There will be with a “Buy One get one Free” promotion Saturday and Sunday.
The store’s paint department has always been a strong component of the business, according to Brad Retzlaff.
Ace Hardware carries Clark+Kensington and Valspar paint products. It also offers zero Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) paint. Retzlaff said the paint was “zero” VOC – not light VOC. The zero VOC paint is less harmful to the environment.
The redesign of the paint department gives customers a boutique-style shopping experience with the product lines in a wide array of colors. A major obstacle with choosing paint is determining if certain colors “go” together. If matched with the wrong color carpet certain shades of blue may appear green. The available colors are prearranged into categories to take the guesswork out of designing.
In addition, pint size paint samples are available for customers wanting to test a color.
Retzlaff described the Paint Studio staff as “paint doctors” capable of diagnosing a variety of problems. With over 50 years of combined experience Retzlaff said the staff can address any paint emergency.
