Nicollet wins big over Cleveland in Valley

NICOLLET – Nicollet defeated Cleveland in a Valley Conference baseball game on Tuesday.

Gavin Nourie was the winning pitcher for the Raiders. He pitched five innings and allowed four runs on five hits and two strikeouts.

Matt Fischer led the Raiders at the plate going 4-for-5 with three singles and a double. Matt Christenson added a home run and a single to go 2-for-3.

Nicollet (8-2, 4-2) plays a split doubleheader on Thursday against Lake Crystal and Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton.

C/CM 9, BLHS 4

MORGAN – Comfrey/Cedar Mountain defeated Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Tuesday in Tomahawk Conference baseball action.

Chandler Rose was the winning pitcher. He went seven innings, giving up three runs on eight hits, walking three and striking out three batters.

Trey Weisfennig was the losing pitcher. He pitched five innings, giving up nine runs on eight hits, walking six batters and strking out six batters.

Andrew Richter was 2-for-3 with a triple for C/CM. Michael Christensen also was 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Mason Olinger was 2-for-3 for BLHS.

C/CM (4-11) will play Murray County Central in Comfrey on Thursday. C/CM will play Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop on Thursday.

FAIRFAX – Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop swept Wabasso in Tomahawk Conference baseball action Tuesday.

In the first game, Tanner Buettner earned the win. He struck out five in five innings. Jayden Katzenmeyer was 2-for-3 with three RBI and Seth Schuette was 2-for-3 with three RBI. Nolan Huiras was 3-for-3 with two RBI.

Dirk Pistulka took the loss for the Rabbits. He gave up seven runs in two innings.

In the second game, Huiras earned the win. He pitched six innings and gave up a run on three hits.

Katzenmeyer was 3-for-5 with three RBI and Colton Pingeon was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Shuette was 2-for-3 with three RBI.

GFW (6-6) plays a doubleheader at Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Thursday.

Sleepy Eye 12, BLHS 8

SLEEPY EYE – Sleepy Eye defeated Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart Tuesday in Tomahawk Conference baseball.

Dylan Klein earned the win. He went four innings and struck out five.

Brandon Polesky was 4-for-5 and Sam Tessmer was 2-for-2 for the Indians.

Sleepy Eye (4-10) is at Cathedral Thursday for a doubleheader.
