St. Mary’s edges Martin County West

St. Mary’s 3, MCW 1

WELCOME -Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s edged Martin County West on Thursday in a nonconference baseball game.

Kodan Kosak went the distance for the win. He gave up one run, three hits, and he struck out two.

Jared Rothmeier was 2-for-3 with one RBI. Jon Kopacek was 1-for-1 with a double and John Brandl went 1-for-3.

St. Mary’s (13-3) will host Minnesota Valley Lutheran on Friday in a doubleheader.

C/CM 7, MCC 6

COMFREY – Tyler Evers scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning to help Comfrey/Cedar Mountain edge Murray County Central on Thursday in a nonconference baseball game.

Michael Christensen hit a single that scored Evers.

Austin Windschitl pitched three innings in relief to earn the win. He gave up only one hit and he struck out four batters.

Evers was 2-for-2 with three runs scored. Colton Kunkel was 1-for-2 with a double and three RBIs.

C/CM (5-11) will play at Red Rock Central on Friday.

New Ulm 4, St. Peter 0

ST. PETER – New Ulm shut out St. Peter in South Central Conference baseball action on Thursday.

Tanner Kluis pitched a complete game shutout, allowing five hits and two walks, while striking out seven batters.

Tyler Dittrich led the Eagles at the plate, going 2-for-3 with an RBI. Chase Meyer was 2-for-4 while Grant Kannegiesser and Judd Davis each added an RBI.

New Ulm (13-3, 6-1) plays again Friday at Blue Earth Area.
