New Ulm competes at Fairmont
FAIRMONT – The New Ulm boy’s and girl’s track and field teams competed at the Fairmont Quad Meet on Friday.
The New Ulm boy’s team finished with 87 points and the girl’s team finished with 85.66 points.
Adabelle Wright was sixth in the girl’s 100-meter dash junior high race in 14.94 and fourth in the junior high discus (57-2).
Sara Sorrell-Hoffman won the girl’s high school 100-meter dash (13.71) and Liz Marti was sixth (14.84). Alyssa Kelley was second in the 200-meter dash (29.08) and Mackenzie Depew was fifth (30.33). Jill Beranek was sixth in the 400-meter dash (1:08.57) while Sarah Preisinger was third in the 800-meter dash (2:43.79) and Jane Arnoldt was fourth (2:47.96). Preisinger also won the 1,600-meter run (5:35.84) and Megan Hulke was fifth in the 3,200 (13:41.49).
Sarah Longtin finished fifth in the 100-meter hurdles (17.88) and third in the 300-hurdles in 54.02. New Ulm’s 4×100 relay team took first in 53.9 and the 4×200 relay team was second in 2:05.5. The 4×400 relay team took third in 5:01.94 and the 4×800 relay team was third in 11:59.91.
Michaela Howk was fourth in the high jump (4-3) and Makenna Kluis and Carsen Wetzel were fifth (4-feet). Wenzel took first in the pole vault (7-6) while Longtin was fourth (7-0) and Shaina Widmer fifth (7-0).
Hailey Trautmiller was second in the long jump (13-4) and Sorell-Hoffman was third (13-4). Jenna Britz was fifth (12.8.5) and Brooke Hieronimus was sixth (12-1.5). Longtin was second in the triple jump (28-11.25) and Britz was fourth (28-5.8), Claire Dobie was fifth?(28-4.75) and Micaela Howk was sixth (27-10).
Bridget Forst won the shot put (27-11.75), followed by Elizabeth Rummel (27-07.5) and Brianna Greenwaldt (27-4). Rummel was second in discus (81-1), Dobie was fourth (76-8) and Greenwaldt was fifth (73-6).
On the boy’s side, Sean Howk was fourth in the junior high 100 (13.65) and third in the 200 (28.63), while Tanner Stark was fifth in the 200 (29.9) and Jack Raymond was sixth (30.33). Raymond was second in the junior high 400 (1:04.14) and Howk was third (1:06.38). Nicolas Schultz was second in the junior high 800 (2:36.41) and third in the junior high 1,600 (5:33.79). Sellner took fourth in 5:44.2 in the same event.
Alehandro Castillo was second in the 100-meter jr. high hurdles (17.43) and Nolan Stolt was fifth (19.37). Castillo won the jr. high 200 hurdles (31.37). New Ulm was fifth in the jr. high 4×100 relay (1:01.44) and second in the jr. high 4×200 (2:01.81).
Stark was first in the junior high pole vault (8-6), followed by Jacob Sellner (7-0), Nick Schultz (6-06), Branden Kral (6-6) and Connor Foley (6.0). Stolt was fifth in the jr. high long jump (13-0) and Stark won the jr. high shot put (31-4), followed by Jacob Sellner (29-4.5) and Madius Miller (28-10).
Miller also won the jr. high discus (90-9) and Jackson Hillesheim was third (70-4).
In varsity events, Tanner Ogren won the 100 in 11.4. Jordan Hillesheim was third (11.95) and Brandon Hauser was sixth (12.24). Bryan Dewanz was fifth in the 200 (25.96) and Dalton Foley was third in the 800 (2:17.98).
Jacob Rakoczy took second in the 1,600 in 4:56.45. Matt Hartley was third (4:58.09) and Austin Brandes was fourth (4:58.35). Craig Schapekahm was fourth in the 3,200 (12:40.08). Sam Dobie was fourth in the 110 hurdles (21.53) and Tevin Mooter was second (17.22).
Hillesheim was first in the high jump (5-6) and Foley was fifth (4-9). Mooter was second in the pole vault (10-feet) and Jon Hammerschmidt was third (9-6), Foley was fifth (9-0) and Ryan Wacker sixth (9-0). Hillesheim took second in the long jump (18-10) and Mooter was third (17-6). Hauser was sixth (16-9). Mooter was second in the triple jump (36-feet) and Dewanz was third (35-8.5).
Ryan O’Connell was first in shot put (36-11), Lorenzo Hernandez was second (35-8.75), Cole Wilfahrt third (34-5), Tyler Guggisberg fourth (33) and Colton Eckstrand sixth (31-9.25). O’Connell took second in discus (106-3) and Guggisberg was third (96-8).
