Wagner to be ordained to the priesthood for New Ulm Diocese
NEW ULM Deacon Samuel Wagner, 37, will be ordained to the priesthood for the Catholic Diocese of New Ulm by Bishop John M. LeVoir on Saturday, June 7, at 10 a.m. at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm.
Wagner is the son of Mike and Audrey Wagner of Sleepy Eye.
Wagner is a 1995 graduate of St. Mary’s Catholic High School, Sleepy Eye. He went on to graduate in 1999 from St. Mary’s University, Winona, with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
His seminary education includes pre-theology (2008-2010) and a master of divinity (2010-2014) from the St. Paul Seminary, St. Paul.
He was ordained a deacon for the Diocese of New Ulm by Bishop LeVoir on June 15, 2013, at the Church of St. Mary, Sleepy Eye.
Following his ordination he will serve as a full-time parochial vicar of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm and the Church of St. John in Searles, and assist in the Holy Cross Area Faith Community (Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, New Ulm; the Church of St. Mary, New Ulm; the Church of St. John the Baptist, Searles; the Church of St. George, West Newton Township; and the Church of St. Gregory the Great, Lafayette).
