Simonsen challenges Lochner for District 4 commissioner
BROWN COUNTY-A race for the District 4 Brown County commissioner seat developed Tuesday when Dean M. Simonsen of rural Sleepy Eye filed for election against incumbent Andrew Lochner of rural Sleepy Eye.
The only other Brown County race for the Nov. 4, State General Election is the Brown County Attorney seat in which Chuck Hanson is challenging incumbent Robert Hinnenthal.
A five-way race for the District 5 Sibley County commissioner seat developed Tuesday when Ed Begeman, Gary A. Kruggel and Mark Santelman filed for election. Robert “Bob” Edwards and Norman Grams filed for the seat last week.
Two other Sibley County election races are for county auditor. Marilee J. Peterson is challenging incumbent Lisa Pfarr. In the District 1 commissioner’s seat. Jim Nytes and Matthew McConnell are candidates.
A three-way race developed Tuesday for the District 2 Redwood County commissioner seat held by John Schueller, who previously filed. He will be opposed by Jim Salfer and Brian Pfarr.
Charles Ridler filed for Renville County District 4 seat Monday. He’ll face incumbent John Stahl.
