How high’s the river?

The water level of the area rivers is rising due to recent heavy rains. Pictured is the Cottonwood River Tuesday under the bridge on Cottonwood Street in New Ulm.

The Cottonwood River was at 10.35 feet at 5 p.m. Tuesday, slightly below flood stage of 11 feet. The river had risen from 5.25 feet on Saturday, June 14.

The Little Cottonwood near Courtland rose from 4 1/2 feet on Saturday to 5 1/2 feet on Tuesday.

The Minnesota River near Morton was at 20 feet on Saturday and 23 1/2 feet on Tuesday night.

The Minnesota River in New Ulm has spread into Riverside Park, but it is not a threat to residential areas because of the recently built berm.
