Gas Department conducting telephone survey
NEW ULM – The Minnesota Office of Pipeline Safety (MNOPS) requires the New Ulm Public Utilities Gas Department to conduct an automated telephone survey every four years, as part of the utilties’ Public Awareness and Education Program regarding natural gas pipeline safety.
This survey involves a statistical sample of the city’s gas customers plus an equal number of non-customers. Non-customers are included in this survey as they may live in an area near a gas or propane distribution pipeline.
The American Public Gas Association (APGA) contracts a separate company to conduct this phone survey. Quest Fore conducted this survey four years ago for the city in 2010. The city anticipate this survey to be conducted in early July. The city asks people to help promote public safety and cooperate in this phone survey.
