Bullheads fall to Loretto, 11-1
LORETTO – The Searles Bullheads 35-and-over men’s amateur baseball team lost to the Loretto Sox on Saturday by a score of 11-1 in five innings.
The Bullheads got three of their four hits in the third inning. Bruce Jacobs and Matt Kuester got on via base hits. After a walk with two outs, Kurt Thorson drove in Jacobs with an RBI single for their only run. Craig Schmitz had the only other Searles hit in the first inning.
Meanwhile Loretto scored three in the first, four in the second, and two in the third to take a 9-1 lead going into the bottom of the fifth. The Sox scored two more runs to end the game. Brad Mathiowetz pitched the first four inning for the Bullheads before being relieved by Schmitz in the fifth.
The Searles Bullheads (2-3) play their next game at home in Searles at 6 p.m. Saturday against the Jordan Alers.
