ROCHESTER – Lorraine Kohlmeyer, 90, of Rochester, passed away peacefully Friday June 20, 2014, surrounded by her family at the Golden Living Centers East in Rochester.
Lorraine Kohlmeyer was born on March 11, 1924 to Clarence and Bessie Arsers in Osage, Iowa. She received her education at the Chatfield Public Schools graduating in 1942. After graduation, Lorraine was employed as a telephone operator at the Northwestern Bell office in Chatfield. Lorraine had a lifelong appreciation for music, especially band music. She played the flute and enjoyed art.
On June 22, 1946 she was united in marriage to Carl A. Kohlmeyer at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She was a loving mother and homemaker.
Lorraine is survived by her children, Carl G. Kohlmeyer of Rochester, Leah Kohlmeyer and partner Tom of Rochester, Galen Kohlmeyer and his wife Susan of Chatfield, Rise Holt and her husband Ralph of Punta Gorda, FL, Maria Buss (husband Bruce deceased) of Blue Ridge, GA, Giselle Benitoa and her husband Al of Rochester, Kent Kohlmeyer and his wife Heidi of Chatfield; 5 grand children; 3 great-grand children; brothers John and Sam Arsers; and sister Clarice Arsers all of New Ulm, and nephews William Arsers, Jr. of Poolesville, WA and Michael Arsers of Chicago, Illinois.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, William and Kenneth Arsers.
Arrangements by the Macken Funeral Home in Rochester. A private memorial service will be held on Wednesday June 25. Burial will be at a later date. Blessed be her memory.
