Join us for a Free Day of Fun
To the editor:
I would like to start a tradition of getting the community together and celebrating locally for the Fourth of July weekend. Kind of like a “New Ulm family reunion.”
I, on behalf of the River Ranger Program, would like to invite everyone to join us at Riverside park on Saturday July 5 for a FREE DAY OF FAMILY FUN. The activities will begin at 1 p.m. when the RADZOO from Owattonna will be bringing reptiles and amphibians, including an alligator. Following their program, starting at 2:15 p.m.: National Guard obstacle course; Minnesota River Regional History Center will be open for tours, kids games, crafts, domestic pets, story telling by Dr. Ann Vogel. Everyone is welcome to bring New Ulm photos, artifacts, and stories to share.
Tony Miller would like everyone to bring Goosetown pictures. He will be scanning them if you want them hung up in the history center. We will have some picnic tables available but you may want to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and maybe a picnic lunch. If it rains the RADZOO will do their program at Hermann Heights.
