Sleepy Eye man involved in fatal crash
DE GRAFF – A 19-year-old De Graff woman died Tuesday evening in a three-vehicle accident reported at 8:15 p.m. on U.S. Highway 12 three miles east of De Graff or 20 miles west of Willmar.
A 1999 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Kayla M. Wrobleski, 19, De Graff, was eastbound on Highway 12, attempting a left turn onto 30th St. S.E. Her car was rear-ended by a 1997 Audi Cabriolet driven by Thomas Kolbe, 37, Sleepy Eye, causing the Pontiac rotate left, facing south. Wrobleski’s car was then hit broadside on the driver’s side by a westbound, 2010 Freightliner semi driven by Jack Witthun, 65, Wadena.
Kolbe and Jaxon T. Kolbe, 8, Sleepy Eye, suffered minor injuries and were transported to the Swift County Hospital, Benson where they were treated and released. Witthun was not injured. All three vehicles were demolished.
The State Patrol is investigating the crash.
