The 3M Foundation through its local community giving program continued its longtime sponsorship of Healthy Communities/Healthy Youths summer theatrical programming for students in the New Ulm area by awarding a $2500 grant for both HCHY’s annual Prairie Fire Children’s Theatre production and it’s annual Senior High theater production. Fifty-three 3rd-9th grade students took part in this years 17th annual PFCT production of ‘Alladin & His Magic Lamp’ which was held the week of July 7-12. Two performances were held on July 11 and 12 with nearly 400 people attending the two shows. Pictured in the photo above are Jackie Schuetzle and Mike King from 3M along with Mike Brigger, Executive Director of Healthy Communities/Healthy Youth. Student actors accepting the grant are Marley Jackson, Miles Irwin, Noah Thompson, Maggie Spike and Bethany Spike.’ There is NO charge for students to participate in either program which have been offered to community youth since 1998.
