Peter Pan is coming to Nicollet
NICOLLET – A summer camp for children grades K-12 starts on Monday, Aug. 4 for five days from 1 to 3:30 pm at the Nicollet Public School Theater, 1 Pine St. in Nicollet.
The New Ulm Actors Community Theatre and the Nicollet Community Education present an original children’s theater workshop then performance by grades K-12 of “Our Own Peter Pan” on Friday night, Aug. 8, at 7 p.m. Children will enjoy creative dramatics, work on their own original story, create dialogue and locations, and present a play.

Native tallgrass prairie tour near Fairfax
FAIRFAX – Learn more about prairies, their management and history during a free prairie tour near Fairfax on Aug. 10, beginning at 1 p.m.
Staff from Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will lead the three-hour tour, which is hosted by the Many Rivers chapter of The Prairie Enthusiasts. Information will be presented about the history of the prairies around Ft. Ridgely and the Minnesota River Valley, and how the valley has changed over time. The tour will also cover prairie flower identification and current prairie management options.
The tour is from 1 to 4 p.m. at the home of Gerald and Janet Peichel. Travel 5 miles south of Fairfax on Hwy. 4. Turn east on Old Fort Road and travel 1.3 miles to 70725 Fort Road, Fairfax. For more information or to register to attend, contact Deanna Pomije at firstname.lastname@example.org.
