Senior Citizen Program scheduled for County Fair

NEW ULM – Senior Citizen’s Day at the Brown County Fair is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 7. A special program has been planned starting at 10:30 a.m. in the climate-controlled New Ulm Civic Center building, located at the Brown County Fairgrounds. Admission is free.

This year the event will highlight the return performance of Tuey Wilson, a talented comic juggler. His performance does not easily fit categorization. Wilson has traveled the country appearing at festivals, fairs, corporate functions and many other celebrations.

The event will also include pre-program music by the New Ulm Polka Band starting at 10 a.m., as well as special 2014 Outstanding Senior and Community Service Recognition, plus the presentation of the 2014 Brown County Century Farm recipients. Brown County Public Health will also be providing free blood pressure checks from 10 to 10:30 a.m.

In addition, compliments of the Brown County Fair Board, there will be juice, coffee and cookies served.

Better Breathers Club

NEW ULM – The next Better Breathers Club of New Ulm meeting will feature an open discussion with Dr Sanjay Mishra. The meeting will be held Thursday, Aug. 21, from 2 to 3:30 pm at the New Ulm Medical Center Auditorium (third floor). For closest entry, park on the 3rd floor parking lot at rear of hospital off 5th North Street or enter main hospital or clinic entrances and request wheelchair assistance if needed.
