GAYLORD – LeRoy Messner, 80, of Gaylord, died unexpectedly Tuesday, July 29, 2014 near Gaylord.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 2, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home NORTH CHAPEL in New Ulm with Roy Koehl officiating. Burial will follow in the Winthrop Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday and 7:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home NORTH CHAPEL in New Ulm.

LeRoy is survived by his wife, JoAnn Messner of Gaylord; daughters, Cheryl (David) Morris of El Cajon, California, Sandy (Tim) Jacobson of Lakeville, Bonnie (Hoobie) Eskuri of Richmond; a son, Marc (Tina) Messner of Gaylord; grandchildren, Israel, Andrew, Raija, Mikayla, Levi, Kali, Cole, Maty, Jada and Lacy; his brother, Duane (Mona) Messner of Gaylord; and by nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
LeRoy Charles Messner was born August 16, 1933 in Gaylord to George and Esther (Miller) Messner. He served in the United States Army from 1953 1955 during which he was stationed in Korea after the Korean War. LeRoy was united in marriage to JoAnn Haack on October 23, 1960. He was baptized at the age of 27 in Winthrop in the Apostolic Christian Church where he served as a minister and elder for 42 years. Leroy was a retired farmer and ditch viewer for RCM and Sibley County and was also an inspector for High Island Watershed District. He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Faith Church.
