Habitat for Humanity opens warehouse in New Ulm
NEW ULM – Brown County Habitat for Humanity now sells new-and-or- used, donated household items to raise funds for new home construction and exterior home repairs.
Much like the ReStore in Mankato, the Brown County affiliate takes donated cabinetry, appliances, hardware, doors, windows, fixtures, carpet, paint, furniture, etc. and sells the items to those looking for new and or gently used items at a reduced price. The money received from sales funds projects for Brown County Habitat for Humanity.
The Brown County Habitat for Humanity does not have the required 45,000 plus populated service area to open an official ReStore. However, it is allowed to operate a warehouse, or in this case storage unit, and run it in much the same way. All funds raised stay in Brown County.
Currently items are sold on Facebook and Craigslist, and interested parties can also make appointments to view items for sale stored at New Ulm Storage, located at 424 N. Valley St. in New Ulm.
Parties interested in donating or purchasing can call the office at 507-354-4287 or email email@example.com.
