Demo derby brings in crowd at fair
NEW ULM – The Grandstand was packed Wednesday night for the Demo Derby at the opening night of the Brown County Free Fair.
The participating classes included ’80s Stock, Old Iron Stock, Ladies of the ’80s, Modified, and Stock Trucks.
The ’80s Stock division was divided into two heats. Bryon Kuehn in the No. 18 car won the first derby, and Tyler Scharfencamp in No. 34 car took first in the second heat.
In the Old Iron Stock Class, Robert Engelking finished in first place.
Ann Mcdermott won the Ladies 80 Stock Division.
The Mod Class was won by Clayton Wiltschek.
First place in the Truck Division went to Kyle Rewitzer.
The evening finished with a Free for All Derby featuring any vehicle still operational. The last vehicle running was driven by Scott Haala, who had previously placed second in the Mod Class.
Demo Derby fans anxious for more vehicular destruction are encouraged to return on Saturday for another Derby.
Monster Truck show is scheduled for Friday. Both events start at 7 p.m.
