3 more file for District 88 School Board
NEW ULM – Three more candidates filed for the District 88 School Board on Monday, including the remaining incumbents, setting up a five-person race for the three four-year terms on the board.
Incumbents Don Deslauriers and Steven Gag filed for the four-year terms, and Christi Dewanz, who was appointed earlier this year to the seat vacated by Jill Hulke, filed for a two-year term.
The five candidates for the four year terms include incumbents Deslauriers, Gag and Duane Winter, and newcomers Melissa Sunderman and Eric Gramentz.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my service on the board and wish for it to continue so that I may see through the vision, mission and goals of the board,” said Gag, in an e-mail announcing his filing.
Dewanz and Dennis Waloch, who was appointed to the seat vacated by the resignation of Sharon Gieseke this summer, are the only candidates for the two two-year terms.
Filing closes at 5 p.m. today. Candidates may file at the District 88 administration offices at the DAC, 15 N. State St.
