Planning Commission approves permit requests
NEW ULM – The Brown County Planning Commission unanimously approved five Conditional Use Permit (CUP) requests Tuesday.
Recommendations will be considered by Brown County commissioners on Tuesday, Aug. 19.
Two permits were approved for Verizon Wireless Communications, LLC, for 180-foot and 400-foot cell towers for continued use in the A-1 Agricultural Protection Zone in Section 10, Cottonwood Township.
Other permits were approved for:
Ryan Brandts, Section 29, Albin Township to expand from a currently permitted hog finishing operation of 1,050 Animal Units (3,500 head) to a maximum capacity of 1,350 AU (4,500 head) through the addition of a new 103×192- foot confinement barn with an 8-foot pit in the A-1 District.
Heiderscheidt Properties, LLC, Section 9, Stark Township, allowing a gravel mining operation for use and sale including extraction and processing (crushing) equipment in the A-1 Zone. The owner/operator must provide dust control when hauling is taking place. The owner must obtain NPDES Stormwater permits as required, through the MPCA.
Gregory & Wendy Sondag, Section 29, Cottonwood Township, allowing placement of a 28×72-foot mobile home to be used as a seasonal dwelling in the A-1 Zone.
Kay Haas, single-lot split, Section 6, Cottonwood Township, amending plat known as Haas First Subdivision, splitting existing homesite from tillable land to keep more property between the home and road.
Jeff Moldan, single-lot split, Section 33, Home Township, former turkey barn site being separated from tillable land, with a condition that an easement be established and show on the plat.
