Getting a chance to dunk the superintendent

NEW?ULM – The incoming class of seventh-graders to New Ulm High School participated in “Fun Day” activities on Monday. An athletic field near the school was transformed into a miniature carnival site with games. Prizes were offered to participants. Students even got a chance to put District 88 Superintendent Jeff Bertrang in the dunk tank.

The “Fun Day” offered students an opportunity to socialize before the 2014-15 year starts. Each of the games was run by members of student programs at NUHS, such the FFA or National Honor Society. Class orientation is scheduled for today. Classes begin Tuesday Sept. 2.
