Area residents have a good old time at Godahl Day
GODAHL – On Labor Day, residents of both Brown County and Watonwan County flocked to the incorporated community of Godahl to celebrate the 59th Annual Godahl Day.
The community held live entertainment starting in the morning and continuing into the evening.
The Grand Parade was held in the afternoon. Due to Godahl’s location on the border of Brown and Watonwan the Labor Day Parade is one of the few parades in the state to cross county lines.
For the first time in three years Godahl had the honor of holding a Queen Coronation. In 2014 the honor was bestowed on Julia Beckius. In past years, the small community was unable to hold a coronation due to a limited number of area candidates.
Other events included Kids Baseball, Bingo, and a Bouncy Castle for the kids.
Money raised from Godahl Day goes to support the Recreation Center and maintain the surrounding park area.
